ŚRṄGAVĀN II. An ancient sage. He was the son of Gālava. He married by force, a woman named Vṛddhakanyā. After a night's married life, Vṛddhakanyā departed. The sage then renounced everything and followed her. (M.B. Śalya Parva, Chapter 82).
