tiguḷa-daṇḍa (IE 8-5), name of a tax; see turuṣka-daṇḍa and āndhra-daṇḍa. Tiguḷa is the same as Tamiḷ. Tiguḷa-daṇḍa may also be ‘the Tamilian measuring rod’.
