Pilgrims to the shrine follow the Karāchī-Miāni-Hiṅg Lāj road along the Makrān coast. The distance is one hundred and fifty miles, but the way is so difficult that the journey occupies twenty-four days. Pilgrims go from Karāchī in bands of from forty to fifty, each conducted by a Brāhman known as agua. At Karāchī he obtains a pass for the party. This is shown at Miāni where fees are collected by a bhārtī, or hereditary examiner, from all except devotees and unmarried girls. In all, on the journey, there are fifteen places where offerings are made, all of which go to the agua.
