Householders engage in secular employments. In Almora are to be found milkmen, tailors and agriculturalists. In various parts of India Yogīs are engaged in weaving, cultivation, in peddling, as soldiers, and as money-lenders.⁴ In the Simla Hills, Yogīs burn the dead, and for every corpse receive four *annas* in money together with a plate of brass and a woollen or cotton cloth. They also receive grain at each harvest.
