³ According to Karṇapūra (Kāvya iv. 21) Caitanya was accompanied by his *jananī-bhaginī-pati* (i.e. Candraśekhara Ācārya). Murāri mentions no companion. Vṛndāvana-dāsa (Ādi xii) says: यात्रा करि चलिला अनेक शिष्य लइया (went accompanied by a large number of pupils), while Jayānanda (p. 32) gives a long list of followers who went with Caitanya!
