c6.s2.7

The last-named makes use of *Muṇḍaka*, and *Muṇḍaka* appears to use *Śvetâśvatara*. *Îśâ* seems on the whole to be less fully developed than *Śvetâśvatara*, and to be freer from sectarian bias; but in numerous instances it is found to be dependent on *Kâṭhaka*.¹ That *Śvetâśvatara* is later than *Kâṭhaka* is not open to doubt; on the contrary, it is very probable, on the evidence of several passages,² that *Kâṭhaka* was directly employed in the composition of *Śvetâśvatara*.
