The FOURTH chapter contains an exposition of the Bodhisattva-bhūmis, showing that the first six bhūmis correspond to the four stages of spiritual progress of the Hinayānists, and that the last four bhūmis are meant exclusively for bodhisattvas for the comprehension of Dharmaśūnyatā or Dharmasamatā and the acquisition of the extraordinary powers of a Buddha.
