Yuan Chwang noticed about a thousand years later that on auspicious days the Abhidhammikas worshipped Sāriputra, the Vinayists Upāli, the Śrāmaṇeras Rāhula, the Sūtraists Pūrṇa Maitrāyāṇiputra, the Samādhists Mahāmoggallāna, the bhikkhunīs Ānanda, the Mahāyānists Mañjuśrī and other Bodhisattvas.³
