XVII. 2. Arhats may have untimely death as arahatghātaka is mentioned in the Buddhavacanas—*Therav*. But as one cannot become an Arhat before the karmaic effects are exhausted, an Arhat cannot have untimely death—*Rājagirikas* and *Siddhatthikas*.
