² e. g. Āpastamba uses the other Saṁhitās as well as the Taittirīya. A direct descent from the Brāhmaṇas is asserted by Caland, *Das Śrautasūtra des Āpastamba*, pp. 1 ff., but this is not certain, nor very probable.
