v1.c23.s2.72
A certain interest attaches to the very late Nejameṣa, who appears apparently as banned in the ritual of the parting of the hair of the bride,⁴ for he reappears in the form of Naigameṣa in the medical work of Suçruta, and as Nemesa in a Mathurā inscription.⁵ It is dubious whether the name is found in the epic, though possibly the Naigameya there recorded may be an error for it.⁶
