The Encyclopedia of Indo-Aryan Research contains the first attempt at a complete, systematic and concise survey of the vast field of Indian languages, religion, history, antiquities, and art, most of which subjects have never before been treated in a connected form. Though the Encyclopedia is primarily intended as a book of reference for students, it will nevertheless be useful to all connected with India; and though it chiefly summarises the results achieved, it will also contain much that is new and leads up to further research.
