Soma stimulated the Fathers to deeds (9, 96¹¹); through him the Fathers found the light and the cows (9, 97³⁹). Soma is also said to be united with the fathers (8, 48¹³) or to be accompanied by them (AV. 18, 4¹²; ŚB. 2, 6, 1⁴, &c.), the Fathers, conversely, being called soma-loving, (*somya*: 10, 14⁶; AV. 2, 12⁵).
