† That they are identical with the Vricîvants also named in the Brâhmana, as Zimmer (p. 124) would have them, Rv. vi, 27, does not justify us to assume. This passage is satisfactorily explained also if the Vricîvants are treated only as confederates of the Turvaças (cf. Ludwig, “Mantra L.,” p. 153).
