At last Buddha arrives at Kusinârâ. There lay on the bank of the river Hiranyavatî (Chota Gandak) a grove of sâl trees. "Go, Ânanda," says Buddha, "and prepare a bed for me between two twin trees, with my head to the north. I am tired, Ânanda; I shall lie down."
