²⁰ Wheeler, op. cit. Pl. XVI. Śāmbhavī Mudrā is thus described “Antarlakṣyam bahirdṛṣṭirnimeṣonmeṣavarjitā.” (cf. Gheraṇḍa-Saṃhitā. 3. 64). Wheeler doubts the yogic significance of the ‘narrowed eyes’—(Wheeler, op. cit. p. 64).
