v2.c24.s2.35

Dignāga’s works, which are preserved in Tibetan translations, are Pramāṇasamuccaya, with a commentary by the author himself, Nyāyapraveśa, Hetucakrahamaru, Ālambanaparīkṣā and Pramāṇaśāstrapraveśa, and they are said to be popular in Japan.¹ Dignāga belongs to the fifth century A.D.² Many of the important changes introduced in logical doctrine by Praśastapāda are traced to Dignāga, whose originality will suffer a good deal, if Praśastapāda is found to be his predecessor.
