We shall now consider the evidence of Patañjali. The passage on which Dr. Keith and others rely as supporting their theory runs as follows:—" *Vyamisrā dṛiśyante. Kechit Kaṃsa-bhaktā bhavanti kechid Vāsudeva bhaktāḥ. Varṇā-* nyatvam khalvapi pushyanti. Kechit kālamukhā bhavanti kechidraktamukhā.”
