¹ This is the first short statement of Buddhist Idealism in the Tātparyaṭīkā. Its different phases will be repeatedly expounded and refuted in detail in the course of the work wheresoever the opportunity of doing it will present itself, cp. pp. 88 ff., 100 ff., 127 ff., 144 ff., 182 ff., 268 ff., 338 ff., 379. 25 ff., 463 ff. etc. etc. These subtlest Naiyāyiks, Udayana and Vardhamāna, deemed Buddhist philosophy an «impervious path», gahanaḥ panthāḥ.
