The Haimavatas are classed by Vasumitra as Theravādins. The Kathāvatthu commentator merely mentions them (Hemavatas) as a late school. They were certainly not the old Theravāda, but they may in Vasumitra's time have claimed to be Theravādas or Sthaviras.
