ii ) *Bamboo rod* : ( a ) *An instrument of measure*—The use of bamboo rod was traced as early as *Taittīrīya Saṃhitā* ( 5.².5.¹. ) and reappeared also in other *Saṃhitās* and in the *Śatapathabrāhmaṇa*. In the *Śrautas* and the *Śulbas*, its use considerably decreased.
