(f) *Area of a circle* is given by Āryabhaṭa¹ I and and Bhāskara II² as ½ c.r. = ² where c = circumference and r = radius. Gaṇeśa gives a very simple proof in which he has divided a circle into even number of equal triangles by drawing radius to the circumference. Half of the total number of triangles are so fitted with remaining triangles that they form a rectangular area having breadth = radius, and length = half the circumference i.e. area = r.½c = ².
