As regards the śukanāsa (antefix of the śikhara fronton) crowning the roof of the kapilī (vestibule between the sanctum and the maṇḍapa) the Aparājita enjoins that it is not to exceed in height the bell-member crowning the maṇḍapa roof. If the height of śikhara be 21 parts, that of śukanasa varies between 9 and 13 parts. Again the prescribed ratio of width between the sanctum and the kapilī (vestibule) should be 1:1/2 or 1:1/3.
