As pointed out by Lallanji Gopal *Medatithi* clearly refers to carts (*gantri*) drawn by bullocks, mules, buffaloes and other animals. The *Upamitibhavaprapañcakathā* mentions that hiring caravans of large carts and animals (mules) for drawing them, yielded high income.
