Facilities for travellers included water reservoirs. This information can be gleaned through Tilakamañjarī, which also states that the king appointed officers to provide food, drink, beds and medicine in charitable houses. Such houses (Sattragara) are also mentioned in the Prabandha cintāmaṇi.
