v1.c13.s8.4

The bead-making industry was extensive and varied, and the tools and techniques were highly developed. The raw materials were imported from various sources, and the finished products were exported to the main Harappan centres and even to the Mesopotamian cities. Beads of different materials have been found from different parts of Chanhu-daro, and it is quite possible that there were varied workshops for different materials and that the workers lived in the vicinity of their workshops.
