K.T.M. Hegde analysed an axe, a chisel and a bangle obtained from Navdatoli. There was no evidence of copper smelting, metallurgical furnace or slag in the area. Hegde suggested that some itinerant metal-working tribe had brought the metallic ingots from the Aravalli area and processed the end artefacts.
