A male copper figure from Sirkap, Taxila was made in first century AD. This was followed by the Gāndhāra images made of copper in solid cast. A group of bronzes from Chausa near Buxur in Bihar (now in the Patna Museum) has been dated by U.P. Shah (quoted by Swarnakamal, 1980: 27) to a period from second to fourth century AD. Belonging to the Kuṣāṇa age, these images show nude standing Tīrthaṅkaras.
