v1.c29.s2.10

In this context we fully endorse the suggestions of several archaeologists and scholars such as D.P. Agrawal *et al.* (1979: 390), R.S. Sharma (1990: 7) etc. that there should be “total retrieval of all the things that are dug in the course of excavations; not even the soil is to be lost”. The idea is that this should be followed by total analysis. If immediate analysis is not possible then the excavated materials should be stored stratigraphically ‘to facilitate future studies by researchers’.
