Bright golden colour hemāraktojvalam of zircon was emphasized in Laghu Ratnaparīkṣā (15). Rayaṇaparikkhā (RYP, 100) compared the colour of zircon with that of indragopa or cochineal insect, and mentioned its sources such as the valley of the Narmadā. The other two sources, mentioned as Sirināthakula and Parevaga country, are not identifiable:
