Again this is the method adopted by Baudhāyana in constructing the *Paitṛki-vedi* which is square in shape and is equivalent to one-third the square on a side 18 padas long.∗ Further he has expressly adopted both the methods in measuring the *Sautrāmaṇīki-vedi*.⁵
