⁴ The word *gomûtrikâ*, means "similar to the course of cow's urine," hence "zigzag." Colebrooke's reading *gosûtrikâ* is incorrect. The method of multiplication of astronomical quantities is called *gomûtrikâ* even upto the present day by the paṇḍits.
