Mahâvîra refers to a method known as *kapâṭa-sandhi*, but does not give the details of the process.² Bhâskara II gives the method but not the name, while Nârâyaṇa (1356) gives the method in almost the same words as Śrîdhara, and calls it *kapâṭa-sandhi*.
