v1.c8.s5.42

The Hindu plan of moving the divisor as the digits of the quotient were evolved, although not essential, was also copied and occurs in the works of such well-known Arab writers as Al-Khowârîzmî (825), Al-Nasavî (*c.* 1025) and others. The mediæval Latin writers called this feature the *antirioratio*.
