One of the astronomical problems proposed by Brahmagupta⁴ leads to the equation: $197x - 1644y - z = 6302.$ Hence $x = (1644y + z + 6302)/197.$ The commentator assumes z = 131. Then $x = (1644y + 6433)/197,$ hence by the method of the pulveriser $x = 41, y = 1.$
