The dissertation was eventually published in 1979 with the rather academic title: *Homo Faber: Technology and Culture in India, China and the West: 1500 to the Present Day.* (*Reissued as Decolonising History: Technology and Culture in India, China and the West: 1500 to the Present Day, Other India Press, 1997.)
