This shows that the length of the year as given by the Pulisa Siddhānta of the Pañcasiddhāntikā and the Pulisa Siddhānta of Utpala are different. This means that the Pulisa Siddhānta of the Pañcasiddhāntikā is quite different from the Pulisa Siddhānta of Utpala. One more surprising fact is that Utpala himself has given the sentence as an ‘extract’ from the original Pulisa Siddhānta :-
