v2.c12.s3.14

Our astronomers fixed the lengths of the planetary orbits from that of the moon and the time taken by each planet for making one revolution. The principle, assumed as basis, that the time of a revolution and the length of the orbit are in proportion, was not true, and hence, the measures of orbital lengths have proved to be wrong while the length of the circumference of the *celestial orbit* is found to be utterly fictitious.
