v2.c14.45
Pārāśarī was not well known even at the time of Bhaṭotpala (Śaka 888) ; how could it be so in the present time ? Laghu Pārāśarī which is at present available, is in the same condition. It is also known as Uḍudāyapradīpa. The author declares at the outset, “ I am compiling this Uḍudāyapradīpa on the basis of Pārāśari-Horā for the satisfaction of astrologers ”. It is clear from this that the work was not written before Varāha.
