¹ Hemachandra (c. 1140 A.D.) in his well-known dictionary called *Abhidhāna Cintāmaṇi*, adopts Amara Siṃha’s interpretations. In Section V, verse 588, he says *aṃso bhuja-śiraḥ skandho jatru sandhir-uro-’ṃsagaḥ*, i.e. *aṃsa* or *skandha* is the head of the arm, and *jatru* is the connecting bone between sternum (*uras*) and the head of the arm (*aṃsa*).
