The arbudas are, according to AS, AHr, bigger than the granthis, according to Susruta round, firm, absolutely painless, big, deep-rooted, of slow growth, without pus and can appear on any part of the body. There are six varieties of arbudas two of which are incurable : one pertaining to blood ( sonitārbuda ) in which a considerable discharge of spoiled blood takes place and the other pertaining to the spoiled flesh ( māmsārbuda ) in which there arises a painless, stone-hard tumour.
