Fluids for *kavalagraha* and *gandūṣadhāraṇa* (mouth-rinsing and gargling) are prescribed particularly for the diseases of mouth and teeth. The fluid is to be retained in the mouth until tears come out of the eyes and drops begin to fall down from the nose; then a new portion of the fluid is to be taken (Su 4.40; AS 1.31; AHr 1.22; Vr 78).
