² Naṣīr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsi was born A.D. 1201. He worked at the Marāgha observatory and published the famous 'Ilkhānic Tables.' He translated Euclid's *Elements* and Ptolemy's *Almagest*, and wrote many works on astronomy.
