(vi) The whole is suspended by a ring (Ar. ḥalqa) joined to the ‘urwah or handle, which in its turn is riveted to the projecting part, kursi or throne, of the mater. To the ḥalqa was sometimes attached a cord (Ar. ‘ilāqa).
