The reputation of the royal Court in the literary world was kept at its high level, mainly through the patronage and literary tastes of prince Muḥammad. The Court of this prince was frequented by the most learned and accomplished men of the time. His attendants used to read to him the *Shāh-Nāmah*, the *Dīwāni-Sanā'ī*, the *Dīwāni-Khāqānī*, and the *Khamsah* of Shaikh Niẓāmī. Learned men discussed the merits of those poets in his presence.²
