Amīr Arslān was a great historian, while Kabīruddīn was noted for his eloquence and proficiency in *belles lettres* in general. His *Fatḥ Nāmahs* are spoken of by Barnī as excellent works, with this defect that the darker aspects of ’Alāuddīn were not touched at all in the book.
