Some factors, which do not relate to the patient as a person,⁶ should be judged by means of authoritative statements (upadeśa) and yukti, while the factors relating to the normal condition (prakṛti) of the patient and morbid changes in that condition (vikṛti) should be carefully observed (1.4).
