Rules for sexual behaviour are formulated (4.36–45). Semen is described and the eight factors leading to its discharge: harṣa (physical sexual stimulation), tarṣa (mental sexual stimulation), saratva (fluidity of the semen), paicchilya (sliminess of the semen), gaurava (heaviness of the semen), aṇupraṇavabhāva (the tendency of the semen, although of a small amount, to be ejaculated), mārutadrutatva (the impulse of vāyu to expel the semen) (4.46–50).81
