v1.c15.45

Eight patterns of behaviour should be avoided during the period of convalescence: loud speech (uccairbhāṣya), being jolted in vehicles (rathaṣobha), making too long walks, a sedentary life, eating before the previous meal has been digested, eating unwholesome foods, sleeping by day, and sexual intercourse; the painful conditions and disorders arising from these types of behaviour in general are mentioned (12.10–12). The symptoms brought about by each of these eight patterns of behaviour are listed (12.13–14) and their treatment is discussed (12.15).
