Cakrapāṇidatta, undoubtedly preceded by earlier commentators, distinguished a type of statement, called pratisaṃskartṛsūtra, thought to derive from the pen of a reviser (pratisaṃskartar), who, though not mentioned by name, is probably Caraka.91
